Sarah has acted as an independent trustee for over 20 years where her highly collaborative and pragmatic approach has made her a highly valued Chair of Trustees to a number of pension arrangements. She has expertise with DB, DC and Death in Service schemes and has acted either as Chair or Sole trustee to over 60 schemes in her time as pension scheme trustee.
Sarah graduated in law from Cambridge University before qualifying as a solicitor. Initially engaged as a corporate lawyer, Sarah later specialised in pensions and trusteeship. This included developing an independent pension scheme trustee practice, most recently through the associated corporate trustee practice owned by Burges Salmon LLP. As well as acting as an independent trustee Sarah has also been involved with specialist trustee training and board effectiveness reviews. Until ceasing to practise as a solicitor in early 2016, she was a full member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers.
Roger is Head of Trusteeship at Pi Trustees and has over thirty five years’ experience in the benefits industry, initially at large consultancies such as Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson) and Mercer. He has also undertaken a number of lengthy interim pension manager assignments.
Roger now acts as independent Chair to a number of Trustee Boards and also provides additional support on an interim basis where Trustee Boards are facing particular challenges. His expertise includes helping address conflicts of interest, dealing with the impact of mergers and acquisitions and managing complex valuations.
His keen commercial awareness enables him to deliver a pragmatic, proportionate and disciplined approach to all his professional, independent trustee appointments.
Roger is a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) and is on the committee of the PMI Trustee Group and a regular speaker at PMI seminars.
Amanda is Head of Business Development for both Pi Consulting and Pi Pension Trustees client services. As well as ensuring our services continue to meet the needs of our clients in a rapidly changing pension landscape, as a member of the Executive Management Team she also provides specialist project management for clients on a range of projects including adviser selection and review, governance and transition management.
Amanda has over twenty five years of experience in the pensions industry and has been involved in the implementation of both Group Personal Pensions and trust based defined contribution schemes. She now focuses on leading complex projects, the design and delivery of defined contribution governance frameworks, and our Master Trust due diligence and auto enrolment review projects.
As well as being a Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute (PMI), Amanda is a certified Prince 2 practitioner and holds the PMI Certificates in Pensions Automatic Enrolment and DC Governance
